The resort, which opened in its new incarnation in late 2010 after an extensive reinvention, is a sophisticated playground for all ages, a serene oasis where people come to connect and revive. Brides and grooms can paint the picture of a memorable wedding across the resort's 500-acre canvas that features bucolic Vineyard, Valley and River lawns for ceremonies accompanied by lovely views, oak and lavender groves and even an 1879 farm house, while the resort's newly-renovated and elegant clubhouse just emerged from an extensive renovation in May. Celebrations into the night can also unfold in the Redwood Room that offers valley views and a private outdoor terrace or the neighboring Oak Room that features a private outdoor courtyard with fountain and the Adventure Kitchen where the resort's chefs can prepare fresh-from-the-garden meals.

 

The resort features 139 cottage-style guest suites with fireplaces, spa-like bathrooms and wooden decks offering majestic valley views, while the Lodge lobby is the heart of the resort where guests are greeted by Roxy the English Bulldog and can enjoy inspired, garden-to-table cuisine from Executive Chef Tim Wood at the Lodge Restaurant.

  


Soothing and active adventures abound, ranging from an adults-only saltwater pool with cabanas and fire pits and an infinity-edge hot tub overlooking the valley to the tree-top Spa Aiyana, an 18-hole golf course designed by Pete Dye and nine tennis courts. The resort's signature activity is a bee keeping experience that features more than 60,000 Italian honeybees along with apiarist John Russo, while other playful experiences include guided hikes on the Huff 'n Puff trail, hilltop yoga on a wooden platform shaded by an ancient oak, explorations of the two-acre organic garden and new salt house, plus seasonal adventures including honey harvests and lavender distillations. Secluded at the base of the resort is the River Ranch activity complex that offers instant fun with a junior Olympic pool and hot tub, splash zone, bocce courts, kids' activity center, caf?, a 5,200-square-foot fitness center and more.
