Long before the town of San Anselmo established itself as the antique capital of California, the foundation for SFTS was laid. Dedicated in 1892, the two stone castles that stand overlooking our campus have now become symbols of San Francisco Theological Seminary.

Imagine that fairy-tale wedding you've always dreamed of: Walking down the aisle of a 100-year-old stone chapel, the light shining brilliantly through stained-glass windows to create a colorful glow about you and your spouse. Family and friends are gathered around for your special day and the subtle melodies of a string trio resonate throughout the unique, domed space.
Then after the vows have been exchanged, high atop the Geneva Terrace your celebration continues with a stunning outdoor reception. The backdrop for your wedding photos will be one of the most picturesque vistas in the Bay Area with Mt. Tamalpais rising in the distance and the lush Ross Valley in the foreground. It is reminiscent of a painting awaiting its subjects to assume their rightful positions in wedded bliss. This is truly what memories are made of.
With our close proximity to both SFO and Oakland Airports, a wide array of shopping, spa, and outdoor activities available, and the California Wine Country just 25 minutes away, SFTS is an ideal location for your Destination Wedding or just a weekend getaway.
We also offer several options for lodging on campus from our beautifully refurbished Shaw Guest House to fully furnished one-bedroom apartments to our Susanna Baird Hall Retreat Center. All venues are conveniently located within comfortable walking distance to downtown San Anselmo renowned for its charming boutiques and restaurants, as well as being a gateway for outdoor enthusiasts.
In addition to our popularity as a wedding venue, SFTS accommodates hundreds of retreats, seminars and meetings each year for groups ranging from 10 to 150 guests, both indoors and out. Rooms come equipped with tables and chairs and you are welcome to bring in any other items you need for a successful meeting. We have a list of preferred vendors we can provide for equipment and catering needs.
